Bill Condon Will Direct Breaking Dawn

It’s been confirmed that Bill Condon will direct Breaking Dawn, the fourth and final instalment of the Twilight Saga.

If you remember we brought you news that Bill Condon was in the short list of directors on Summit’s wish list, alongside, Sofia Coppola and Gus Van Sant.

In a statement, Condon said: "I'm very excited to get the chance to bring the climax of this saga to life on-screen. As fans of the series know, this is a one-of-a-kind book - and we're hoping to create an equally unique cinematic experience."

Condon has directed Dream Girls and won an Oscar and Bram Stoker Award for his screen play, Gods and Monsters, in 1999.

Walliams Tipped For Twilight Role

Little Britain star David Walliams has reportedly been asked to audition for a role in Breaking Dawn.

According to The Sun, David is being lined up to play a vampire - but it is not known whether his character will be on the side of the Cullens, or the Volturi.

A source told the newspaper: "[Producers] thought him suitable when they saw him play the evil charmer in the drama Capturing Mary."

Our money's on him playing eccentric British vamp Alistair. We reckon he'd bring just the right amount of comedy and creepiness to the role.

Directors In Discussion For Breaking Dawn?

Rumour has it that Summit Entertainment have reached out to Sofia Coppola (Lost in Translation), Gus Van Sant (Milk) and Bill Condon (Gods And Monsters) about directing the fourth film in The Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn.

Entertainment Weekly reports that the studio reached out to the critically acclaimed trio, but only Van Sant has confirmed discussions.

The news comes following Robert Pattinson's suggestion that Van Sant would be the ideal director for the saga's final installment. The actor told MTV last year: "It's all about teenage love and obsessions. I think Gus Van Sant would be great."

Formal offers will be made once screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg's outline has been submitted.

Kristen Stewart says Breaking Dawn future is “up in the air”

It seems that no one is any the wiser about the future of the Breaking Dawn film, the final book in Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight series. Kristen Stewart told assembled reporters at the Bafta ceremony that neither she, Robert Pattinson or Taylor Lautner had signed up for the next instalment of the Twilight saga.

Speaking after the success of picking up the Orange Rising Star award Kristen said, “We’re all definitely on board to do Breaking Dawn, but what’s up in the air at the moment is whether it’s going to be one or two films and at the moment we still don’t know.”

But Kristen clearly can’t wait to start filming the final movie, “I'd just say that all of the stuff you've read in the book is going to look really cool. I'm really excited to see the newborns, I keep saying that, but they're going to look insane.”

Geeky Girls are hopeful that Breaking Dawn is not split into two segments. We say condense the wedding stuff and keep with the more action packed vampire activity. What do you think? Do you think Breaking Dawn should be split into two?
