Doctor Who Star's Got One in the Oven

Amy Pond (Karen Gillan) is apparently going to be revealed to be up the duff, Keith Cheggers...preggers! in a future episode of Doctor Who. According to Digital Spy, Amy can be seen sitting on a swing with a baby bump. 

The episode is set five years in the future and features her fiance Rory (Arthur Darvill). We're dying to know whether the baby is his or The Doctor's.

A source said "Viewers will have to wait and see how the pregnancy came about, but as always with Doctor Who, things are not always as they appear."

The episode will be screened on the 15 May 2010.

No Alien For New Prequel Films, Says Ridley Scott

Get set for some disappointing news, kids. We won’t be seeing the (terrifying) Xenomorph or face huggers, so prominent in earlier films, in the up-coming Alien prequel movies.

British Director and all round genius, Ridley Scott says audiences won’t be seeing the classic, black armoured cretin because the notion is too “worn out”.

In an interview with the Screen Daily, Scott explains; “The film will be really tough, really nasty. It's the dark side of the moon. We are talking about gods and engineers. Engineers of space. And were the aliens designed as a form of biological warfare? Or biology that would actually go in and clean up a planet? It will take place in the years before that, when they first come across this thing on a planet called Zeta Reticuli”

Scott continued “... the thing about Alien vs Predator is, I know it's commerce, but what a pity... I think, therefore, I have to design - or redesign - earlier versions of what these elements are that led to the thing you finally see in Alien, which is the thing that catapults out of the egg, the face-hugger. I don't want to repeat it. The alien in a sense, as a shape, is worn out."

Scot announced to Collider.com earlier this month that there would be not one but two new Alien films. “It’ll be two. Prequel one and two and then Alien 1”.

Bill Condon Will Direct Breaking Dawn

It’s been confirmed that Bill Condon will direct Breaking Dawn, the fourth and final instalment of the Twilight Saga.

If you remember we brought you news that Bill Condon was in the short list of directors on Summit’s wish list, alongside, Sofia Coppola and Gus Van Sant.

In a statement, Condon said: "I'm very excited to get the chance to bring the climax of this saga to life on-screen. As fans of the series know, this is a one-of-a-kind book - and we're hoping to create an equally unique cinematic experience."

Condon has directed Dream Girls and won an Oscar and Bram Stoker Award for his screen play, Gods and Monsters, in 1999.

New Inception Poster Revealed

We’ve been banging on for ages about Christopher Nolan’s upcoming Inception film and yesterday a new poster was released.

Spotted by fans using the online viral game, Mind Crime, the new poster features the main protagonists in the foreground and in the background we assume one of the Ellen Page dreamscape scenes.

The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen Page, Cillian Murphy, Marion Cotillard and GG favourite Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Inception hits UK cinemas and will bend your minds from July 16th.

For those of you salivating for the next trailer, you’ve only got 8 days to go. And just to clarify, we’re salivating with anticipation along with you.

Avatar Smashes More Records

Avatar has smashed many cinema records (including being the fastest movie to ever achieve $1 billion in global ticket sales) but now it can also add smashing DVD records to its mantle.

James Cameron’s 3-D fantasy extravaganza sold over 4 million DVD copies on its opening day, with 1.5 million copies brought on Blu-ray.

Avatar also looks set to take New Moon's crown for being the biggest selling DVD of the year. So far David A Slade’s New Moon picture has sold 6.5 million copies this year.

Selling 4 million DVD copies on its first day, we reckon that Avatar is more than likely going to leave New Moon trailing in its dust.

New Action Packed Eclipse Trailer HERE; "Some One Is Creating An Army"

So, Dr Cullen presumes that someone is sending a legion of crazy, new-born vamps to Forks to wreck havoc across the small town. Oh dear - bad times. Oh and Bella is still dilly dithering between sexy Jake and true love, Edward. Hurry up love, pick one!

We are so excited. We are so excited that we feel a little sick with it.

We think it’s fair to say that the Twilight saga has improved with each film released and Eclipse looks set to continue that trend. It looks bloody marvellous.

From the vampires emerging eerily from the lake, to the confrontational scenes between Bella, Jake and Edward – the trailer is certainly not lacking impact or action.

The fight scenes look beautifully choreographed (as expected from Slade after New Moon’s efforts) and stylishly finished off and the special effects (the wolves in particular) look ridiculously realistic.

The trailer was debuted on the Oprah Winfrey Show and forums and web blogs across the net have seen positive fan reaction.

Eclipse is released July 09 2010 which is hugely late compared to just about everywhere else – in fact, only Germanys is later (15th July)!

Marvel Updates On Future Movies

Marvel has given a tantalising insight into future comic book movie releases.

Among them is Edgar Wright's Ant-Man, which is centred around a super-hero who can shrink himself down to the size of an ant. Due to be released in the US in 2012, a biochemist uses his latest discovery to create a size-altering formula.

We must say we're not 100% convinced by this premise - a little too familiar (think Honey I Shrunk the Kids). Perhaps it's a little band-wagon due to the recent stream of comic book releases?

We'll have to wait and see.
