Lipton X Girls’ Generation Dance Contest

Following the collaboration between Lipton and Girls’ Generation, a new page labelled “Lipton X Girls’ Generation Dance Contest” has been uploaded onto Lipton’s homepage. Lipton will be opening a dance competition featuring Girls’ Generation’s “MR. TAXI” as the main theme, as they are currently helping to promote Lipton’s spring products. Also, in view of the competition, Lipton has recently set up a special section on their website where the “MR. TAXI” dance contest version of the video and sample movies can be viewed publicaly.
Starting on the 20th of July, the company will be accepting videos of participants. To participate, just memorise the steps from Girls’ Generation’s “MR. TAXI” promotional dance video and submit the recorded video as a team. The dance videos need not necessarily contain the dance steps from “MR. TAXI”, but the song used in the video needs to be “MR. TAXI”. There has to be at least 3 members in each team and the entry video can be no longer than 30 seconds. Also, bear in mind that all submitted videos are not to be edited beforehand. The Grand Prize will be hand-signed T-shirts from Girls’ Generation, and the winner will be announced later this year.
Although the competition was announced, the company has not yet further elaborated on how or where to submit the videos. So stay tuned for further details!

SNSD transforms a pamphlet into a mature photospread

SNSD transformed a simple pamphlet into a photospread with their beauty.
On an online community bulletin board, the pamphlet photos from SNSD’s Japan Arena Concert Tour were uploaded for all their fans to see. In the photos, their usual cuteness was replaced with a more mature, feminine and sexy look.
All the ladies are sporting dark makeup and very big hairstyles along with their facial expressions, poses, and outfits all showing off their charms.
Seohyun, who was recently chosen as having the best facial cross line, showed off a funky and poofy hairstyle. From these photos, you couldn’t tell that these girls are actually innocent young girls.
They really know how to transform into any image.

Seohyun Chosen as Girl Group Member with Most Likable Face

Recently, an online poll was created with the question “Which girl group member is the most likable and has the best facial proportions?” Girls’ Generation Seohyun emerged in first place with 51.9%. She received an overwhelming number of votes with 120 out of the total 231.
The head of Lux Plastic Surgery, Kang Minjun explained that “Seohyun’s forehead, nose, chin, cheeks and the rest of her face have natural and ideal facial proportions. This gives off a comfortable and likable image to the public eye.”
Girls’ Generation’s generally well-received image is also one of the reasons that they were chosen to be the models for acclaimed company, Intel. A representative further commented that an image of friendliness is important in order to lead a brand since it is one of the factors that will attract the attention of the public.
Meanwhile, 2NE1′s Sandara Park came in second with 45 votes, while fellow labelmate f(x)’s Sulli came in third with 42 votes.

NHK to Air Encore Episode of ‘Girls’ Generation Special’ with Extended Footage

After less than a month since its original broadcast, Universal Music Japan (UMJ) recently announced through Girls’ Generation’s official Japanese website that NHK will air an encore of MUSIC JAPAN’s “Girls’ Generation Special”. NHK aired the episode in the beginning of June on the 9th, and the encore episode will be shown on July 15th at 1AM Japan time.
UMJ commented that “The “Girls’ Generation Special” that was aired last month received lots of requests to be re-broadcast, so it will be, with the addition of a 15-minute never-before-seen and behind the scenes footage. We hope that people who caught the special, as well as those who did not, will not miss it.” The initial episode showed the girls’ journey in Japan from their debut to their first tour in the country. It also featured interviews with the girls who talked openly about various topics.
Even though the encore will not be broadcast at a primetime slot, the fact that it is being shown nationally once again is a significant feat. Girls’ Generation is currently experiencing overwhelming support in Japan, seen through their successful Japan Arena Tour as well as their recently declared double platinum first Japan album.
Stay tuned for updates!
