Shawshank Redemption legend Tim Robbins has signed up to star in the forthcoming Green Lantern movie, according to reports.The actor will portray Senator Hammond, the disapproving father of the film's villain, pathologist Dr Hector Hammond (Peter Sarsgaard, Jarhead). In the film, Hector turns to villainy after developing psychic powers, and an enlarged cranium, which he then uses to control others' minds.
Geeky Girls' favourite Ryan Reynolds will play the titular comic book hero Hal Jordan, the first earthling inducted into the intergalactic Green Lantern Corps. Gossip Girl actress Blake Lively is also signed up as love interest Carol Ferris.
