True Blood: The Books v The TV Series

Now, us being the Geeky Girls, we couldn't just watch the True Blood television series, oh no, we had to go and read the books too, just to see if we could get ahead and reveal any plot lines further down the line! (And for our own enjoyment too of course!)

It turns out that there are quite a few differences in the books compared to the series.

For starters, the second book starts with the same plot line as the series, that 'someone' was killed and left for dead in Andy Bellefleur's car, however the book states that it was in fact Lafayette - so you can imagine our surprise when the second season started. Also Tara doesn't feature in the books much at all, not to the extent that she does in the series. She is only mentioned at the end of the second book for the first time and she is certainly not Sookie's best friend.

Another point that we must make is that we are not too keen on Bill in the book! He seems rather more aloof and definately not as romantic - in fact we feel a little sorry for Sookie. Eric, on the other hand, is charming, witty and comes across as someone we would like Sookie to hook up with.

As the TV series progresses we will answer any questions you may have about the books vs. the series and we are very interested to know if anyone else has read the Charlaine Harris book series and noticed anything else that is better, worse or just different.
