Alan Ball On New True Blood Character, Alcide Heureaux: "..Crazy Peak Physical Condition"

Do you remember way back when we posted that True Blood had cast Alcide Heureaux’s character to Joe Manganiello (One Tree Hill)? Well now he’s on set and in the thick of it! We've found an exclusive, first-look photo of Alcide and Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) in action.

Alcide will make his first appearance in True Blood’s third season and executive show producer Alan Ball says there will be fireworks! “There is definitely some [sexual] energy between the two of them. It’s not like either one of them is looking for romance, but they’re thrown into several intense situations [and] it’s hard not to bond on a deeper level,” mused Alan to EW’s Ausiello.

Alan continued: “The first shirtless scene [Joe] had I was like, 'Who has those abs?'. He’s in crazy peak physical condition. He’s eating nothing but pure protein. And of course, this being True Blood, he’s already shot his first naked scene. Hello, werewolves when they shift — no clothes!” 

Oh, silly us! To think we thought it was just about gratuitous nudity – not that we’re complaining mind.

We’re not sure if we can take all this True Blood goodness. First it was Alexander Skarsgård, then Mechad Brooks and now Joe Manganiello. It’s enough to make a girl feel quite over come.
