It will be a 're-imagining' that is loosely based on the 1984 classic. So it won't be a carbon copy of the original which we're pleased to hear. It would have a lot to live up to in the 'scare' stakes. (Or maybe that was just our young impressionable minds at the time!).
After interviews with cast and crew it has been established that Freddy (Jackie Earle Haley, Rorschach in Watchmen) will have burn marks on his face that are more accurate to those of a real-life burn victim. There will also be parts of the film that show Freddy before he was burnt.
We think that this will be an interesting and different take on the original. But be prepared to be scared.
